WHAT WE BELIEVE…

ABOUT GOD… We believe there is only one living and true God who is everlasting, infinite in power, wisdom and goodness; that it is this God who made everything that exists, visible and invisible.  We believe in the unity of the Godhead consisting of three persons of one substance, eternal being and equality in all ways:  the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We believe this Godhead possesses the natural attributes of omnipresence (Ps. 139:7-12), omnipotence (Jer. 32:17), omniscience (Ps. 147:5; Matt. 10:30) and immutability.  We believe this Godhead also possesses the moral attributes of holiness (Lev. 11:44; 1 Peter 1:16; Ex. 3:4,5), justice, faithfulness, mercy, love and goodness (grace).

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST…We believe that the Son, who is the Word of God, the Father, is of one substance with the Father and that He did take the nature of man in the womb of the virgin, Mary, and that these two natures, the Godhead and manhood were joined in one Person, never to be divided, whereof is one Christ, very God and perfect man, who actually suffered, was crucified, dead, buried and did rise again to reconcile the Father to us, and to make atonement, not only for our actual guilt but also for original sin.

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT…We believe that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son and is of one substance, majesty and glory with the Father and the Son, very and eternal God.

ABOUT THE BIBLE…We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, consisting of sixty-six books, divided into two compartments, the Old and New Testatments.  We believe the Bible is the full and complete revelation of God to man of His plan and history of redemption.

ABOUT SALVATION…We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the remission of sins past, regeneration of penitent sinners and for salvation from sin (Ro. 3:25; 1 John 3:5-10; Eph. 2:1-10).  We believe in justification by faith alone (Ro. 5:1).  We believe that Jesus Christ shed His blood for the complete cleansing of the justified believer from all indwelling sin and from its pollution (1 John 1:7-9).

ABOUT SANCTIFICATION…We believe that sanctification is initiated in regeneration and is consummated in glorification.  Sanctification is received by an act of faith and promises that the believer does not need to serve sin (Ro. 6:1-23) and that a Christian can live victoriously over the power of sin through the power of faith and God’s Word.  We believe that sanctification begins with a conscious decision of faith in the believer’s life that answers the question, “now that I am saved, is sin allowed?”  The obvious answer is an emphatic, “no” based on Romans 6:1, 2 and empowers the believer to resist the temptations to sin by relying on the strength of God’s Word.

ABOUT THE BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT… We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and that this blessing is obtained by an act of faith in God’s promise on the part of the fully cleansed believer and is initially evidenced by speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance (Lk. 11:13; Acts 1:5; 2:14; 10:44-46; 19:6).  We believe that the purpose of this gift is to empower Christians to witness boldly to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

ABOUT HEALING…We believe in divine healing provided through the atonement (Isa. 53:4-5; Matt. 8:16-17; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16; Ex. 15:26)

ABOUT HEAVEN AND HELL…We believe that eternal life with God in heaven is a portion of the reward of those who have received the work and person of Jesus Christ into their life and that everlasting banishment from the presence of the Lord and unending suffering in hell are the wages of those who reject Christ as their Lord and Savior (Matt. 25:46; Ps. 9:17; Rev. 21:7-8).

ABOUT THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS…We believe in the imminent, personal, pre-millennial second coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ (1 Thess. 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; 2 Peter 3:1-4; Matt. 24:29-44).

ABOUT WITNESSING…We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his/her life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18-20; Mk. 16:15-20; Acts 1:8).
